In addition, Volterra Fietta was hired by clients as counsel on multiple global disputes whose “value” cannot be monetised, including: climate change litigation; inter-State land and sea boundary disputes; international humanitarian/criminal law defence; International Labour Organisation disputes; multi-jurisdictional protection from bribery and extortion; international trade disputes between regional blocks; and sovereign immunity defences for States before foreign courts and tribunals. None of these matters were undertaken by the firm pro bono or “bought” for credentials by charging under-market fees.
