Volterra Fietta promotes Florentine Vos to Counsel

Top-ranked public international law specialist firm Volterra Fietta is pleased to announce the promotion of Florentine Vos to Counsel, effective as of 1 April 2026.

Since joining in 2019, Florentine has worked for the firm’s clients across the full range of public international law, including land and maritime boundary disputes, climate change, international organisations law, the law of the sea, international investment law, space law, sovereign immunities and the laws of war and reparations. 

She has represented clients in multiple State-to-State disputes, including multiple cases before the International Court of Justice.  She has gained a stellar reputation acting for both claimants and respondents in high-stakes, high-profile investment treaty arbitrations.  She also has significant experience advising clients in judicial proceedings involving public international law issues before domestic courts.

As well as being a successful practitioner, Florentine enjoys academic recognition.  She frequently speaks and publishes on a variety of public international law topics.  She lectures at leading universities.  For example, she frequently lectures at the University of Leiden.  She also regularly appears in the media to speak on topical international law issues.

Before joining Volterra Fietta, Florentine worked in the international dispute departments of two major international law firms.  Prior to entering private practice, Florentine worked at an international court and in several international human rights organisations.

Florentine is a qualified Dutch lawyer and has been called to the bar of England and Wales.  She holds a BA and an MA from the University of Cambridge, as well as a BA and an LLM from the University of Leiden.
