On Monday 6 January 2020, Volterra Fietta appointed Peter Flint, the ex-head of international arbitration at Gowling WLG LLP and, previously, Barlow, Lyde & Gilbert LLP, as a consultant.
Peter established himself as a recognised leading practitioner in the fields of international arbitration, litigation and ADR during the course of his 35-year career. He has extensive experience in Bilateral Investment Treaty disputes, representing both investors and States in BIT arbitrations at ICSID and other fora. Peter has worked under all the established arbitral rules, including the ICC, the LCIA, UNCITRAL and the SCC. His experience spans the globe, including working with governments and private clients in central Europe, Russia and the CIS, the Middle East, the Far East, South Asia and Africa.
Peter has worked across a range of commercial sectors, including: energy and the Energy Charter Treaty; government contracts; banking and finance; aeronautical engineering; construction; and telecoms.
