London International Boundary Conference 2025

King’s College London and Volterra Fietta co-host the London International Boundary Conference 2025

We are delighted to announce that the London International Boundary Conference will return for the seventh occasion (“LIBC VII”) on 12 and 13 June 2025.  Inaugurated in April 2013, the London International Boundary Conference is an international gathering of scholars and professionals dedicated to furthering multidisciplinary approaches to complex territorial and boundary disputes.  The conference brings together leading specialists from around the world who are specialists in the fields of international law, history, geography and other social sciences, physical sciences and diplomacy to examine contemporary boundary and territory issues, emerging challenges and regional hotspots.

LIBC VII will focus on the following themes and topics:

  1. Non-lawyer contributions to boundary and territorial dispute settlement
  2. Maritime boundaries and hydrocarbons
  3. African boundaries and territorial conflicts: into the mid-21st century
  4. Borders, territories and an increasingly “lawless” world
  5. Borderlands and frontier resources
  6. Territorial foundation of the Gulf States

LIBC VII will take a hybrid format, with both virtual and in-person participation possible.

The programme schedule and participation costs will be announced shortly on the LIBC website.  Information on how to apply for speaking engagements on the LIBC VII panels can also be found here.
